How to get two-way Dropbox folder sync on Android, back up WhatsApp and documents, and move files out to clouds with bigger free tiers
Dropbox invented easy file sync on the desktop. On Android, the official app focuses on browsing files and camera uploads ; it doesn’t keep an arbitrary phone folder automatically synced with a Dropbox folder. And on the free Basic plan you get only 2 GB , so many users also need a way to move files out to clouds with more free space.
QuestSync , an Android cloud sync app, solves both: it syncs any phone folder with Dropbox on a schedule, and it moves files between Dropbox and 40+ other clouds straight from the phone.
What QuestSync does for Dropbox users
- Folder sync for any folder : Documents, Downloads, WhatsApp, Telegram, notes vaults (Obsidian, Markor), not just the camera.
- Two-way sync, Mirror, Back up or Move , on an hourly, daily or weekly schedule.
- Dropbox to Google Drive, MEGA, OneDrive or Internxt transfers when your 2 GB is full.
- Several Dropbox accounts side by side, personal and work.
Set up Dropbox folder sync on Android
- Install QuestSync from Google Play.
- Tap Add a cloud → Dropbox and sign in on Dropbox’s own page.
- Tap New transfer : from a phone folder to a Dropbox folder.
- Choose Two-way sync to keep both identical, or Back up to only add files.
- Set a schedule, Wi-Fi only and While charging , then tap Start.
