The OneDrive app backs up your camera. Here’s how to sync every other folder too, two-way and on a schedule, and use OneDrive alongside all your other clouds
On a Windows PC, OneDrive quietly keeps your folders in sync. On Android, it’s different: the official app is excellent at camera backup , but it doesn’t keep an arbitrary phone folder, like Documents, Downloads or WhatsApp/Media, automatically synced with OneDrive. It’s one of the most searched OneDrive questions: “how do I auto-sync an Android folder with OneDrive?”
This guide shows how to do it with QuestSync , an Android cloud sync app that works with OneDrive personal and business accounts and with 40+ other clouds.
What QuestSync adds to OneDrive on Android
- Any folder, any direction : Back up, Mirror, Two-way sync or Move between a phone folder and a OneDrive folder.
- Schedules : hourly, daily or weekly, Wi-Fi only and while charging.
- Personal and work OneDrive side by side , plus other clouds like Google Drive, Dropbox and MEGA.
- Cloud-to-cloud transfers : OneDrive to Google Drive, Dropbox to OneDrive and more, straight from the phone.
How to auto-sync an Android folder with OneDrive
- Install QuestSync from Google Play.
- Tap Add a cloud → OneDrive and sign in on Microsoft’s own sign-in page (personal, work or school account).
- Tap New transfer : from a phone folder, for example WhatsApp/Media or Documents, to a OneDrive folder.
- Choose Back up (upload only), Mirror , Two-way sync or Move.
- Pick a schedule, switch on Wi-Fi only and While charging , and tap Start.
Popular OneDrive jobs
Back up WhatsApp media to OneDrive
WhatsApp’s own backup only goes to Google Drive. With QuestSync, back up Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media to OneDrive weekly, or Move older media there to free phone space.
Two-way sync Documents with your PC
Sync your phone’s Documents folder with a OneDrive folder that your Windows PC also syncs, so files edited on either device show up on both.
Free up space on a full phone
Use Move with a filter such as “older than 90 days” to send old photos and videos to OneDrive and remove them from the phone.
Move between OneDrive and other clouds
Switching from Dropbox to OneDrive, or consolidating a Microsoft 365 OneDrive with Google Drive? Transfer folders cloud to cloud, no computer needed.
All QuestSync features
- 40+ clouds: Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, pCloud, MEGA, iCloud Drive, Proton Drive, Internxt, Koofr, Yandex Disk, Backblaze B2, Amazon S3, Nextcloud, WebDAV, SFTP, SMB and more.
- Multiple accounts per provider, and use the 108+ GB of free storage those clouds give you (300+ GB with a few accounts).
- Filters by type, size and date; jobs survive reboots and resume after network drops.
- Connected clouds in Android’s file picker; InstaSend to share files nearby with a QR code.
- No middleman servers; credentials encrypted on the device; 20 languages.
Free vs Pro
Free to download; Back up and cloud-to-cloud copy are free, with occasional short ads on long transfers. QuestSync Pro (subscription or lifetime) adds schedules, Mirror, Two-way sync and Move and removes ads.
FAQ

Does it work with OneDrive for Business?
Yes, personal, work and school accounts can all be connected, even side by side.
Will two-way sync delete files?
