Lost or cracked the S Pen that came with your Galaxy S24 Ultra? Here's what a compatible replacement actually gives you, what it doesn't, and how to make sure you're buying the right one for your exact phone.
Genuine vs. compatible: what's actually different
A genuine Samsung S Pen for the S24 Ultra includes a small Bluetooth Low Energy chip inside the pen body, which is what powers Air Actions (using the pen as a remote to open the camera, skip music tracks, or navigate presentations) and lets certain Air Command shortcuts trigger the moment you pull the pen from its silo.
A compatible non-Bluetooth replacement:
- Works fully: writing, note-taking, sketching, 4096-level pressure sensitivity, the on-screen Air Command menu
- Not included: Air Actions gesture remote control (camera shutter, music/slide control via pen clicks)
For most people replacing a lost or broken pen for everyday writing and drawing, this difference doesn't come up.
Color options
We carry the S24 Ultra stylus in three finishes matching the phone's launch colors: Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Yellow. Color is purely cosmetic — all three work identically.
Is this compatible with S23 Ultra or S25 Ultra too?
No. S Pen builds are generation-specific to the Ultra line — an S24 Ultra pen will not seat or charge correctly in an S23 Ultra or S25 Ultra's silo, and the reverse is also true.
How to tell if your S Pen is actually the problem
- Not detected at all: often the phone's S Pen sensor or silo contacts, not the pen itself — try cleaning the silo opening first
- Detected but not writing smoothly: usually the pen tip is worn or the phone's screen protector is interfering
FAQ
Does this S Pen support Air Actions?
No. This is a compatible, non-Bluetooth replacement, so gesture remote control isn't included. Writing, drawing, and Air Command all work normally.
Will this fit my S23 Ultra or S25 Ultra?
No. S Pen builds are specific to each Ultra generation and are not cross-compatible.
