The iPhone Duo’s two-screen form factor is prompting different app approaches: Netflix separates short-video browsing on the outer display from viewing on the inner one, while Wakeout changes its interface based on device position.
But early reviews say many mainstream apps still show black bars or require zooming.
The contrast makes app adaptation—not just hardware—a key detail in this foldable launch.
Applications that take advantage of the two screens
Despite the limitations of existing apps, several creators have created new experiences that take advantage of the phone's design. Netflix, for example, allows you to browse short videos on the external screen and switch to the internal screen to watch them.
Deck-Man, designed by Vidit Bhargava and originally known as Duo-Man, functions as a digital cassette player and is due for release on October 23, 2026, without subscriptions. Meanwhile, Phil Traut's TypeDraw functions as a digital notepad, offering twelve fonts and drawing capabilities.
New features and entertainment
The Wakeout app adapts its environment based on how the user holds the device, whether it's closed, open, or positioned like a tent or laptop. Similarly, Flighty has a special mode for use when the phone is folded into a tent on an airplane table.
