Waymo has added Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas to its network, marking the sixth major airport served by its autonomous vehicle fleet.
The rollout includes dedicated pickup and dropoff zones at Terminals 1 and 3, with initial airport access restricted to a limited group of riders before a broader public release.
This is the sixth major airport the company offers service to. Waymo already serves Phoenix Sky Harbor, Nashville, San Antonio, San Francisco and San Jose airports.
How will the airport routes be operated?
Waymo began offering rides to the Las Vegas public in September and covers a 24-square-mile area in the city. The airport rides will initially be available to a limited number of passengers before gradually opening up to everyone.
The competition in Las Vegas
Amazon-owned Zoox is already in the same business. Meanwhile, local authorities in August approved permits that will allow Tesla and Uber to deploy thousands of autonomous vehicles on Las Vegas streets next year.
