Two of the best-selling budget earbuds on Amazon are separated by about ten dollars — and by one massive feature. In the Soundcore P30i vs JBL Vibe Beam showdown, you are really choosing between noise cancelling and bass: the P30i (~$40) brings real 42dB hybrid ANC to the budget tier, while the Vibe Beam (~$30) brings JBL's famous deep bass at the lowest price of the two. We compared them across sound, ANC, battery, calls, and comfort so you buy the right pair the first time.
Quick Verdict: P30i vs Vibe Beam
Buy the Soundcore P30i (~$40) if you commute, work in a noisy office, or fly often — its 42dB hybrid ANC genuinely hushes engine drone and chatter, plus you get 45-hour battery life and a case that doubles as a phone stand.
Buy the JBL Vibe Beam (~$30) if bass is your priority and your budget is strict — JBL's Deep Bass tuning hits harder out of the box, and it is the cheaper pair by about $10.

Soundcore P30i — Best Noise Cancelling Under $50 (~$40)
The P30i's headline feature is almost unfair at this price: adaptive hybrid ANC up to 42dB — the kind of noise cancelling that cost $150+ two years ago. On a bus, in an open office, or on a plane, it genuinely hushes engine drone and chatter. Transparency mode lets the world back in when you need it.
Sound-wise, 10mm drivers with Soundcore's BassUp tech deliver deep, punchy bass, and the Soundcore app's 22 EQ presets (plus custom EQ) let you reshape the signature completely. Battery life is class-leading: 10 hours per charge, 45 hours total with the case. And the party trick — the charging case opens into a phone stand, genuinely useful for watching video hands-free on flights.
Pros:
- Real 42dB hybrid ANC — unmatched under $50
- 45-hour total battery life
- 10mm drivers with strong, customizable bass
- Case doubles as a phone stand
- 4 AI mics — strong call quality
- Bluetooth 5.4, IP54 rating
Cons:
- ~$10 more than the Vibe Beam
- Bass-heavy default tuning (fixable in the app)
- Bulky case compared to slimmer rivals
Best for: Commuters, office workers, and travelers who want silence on demand.
JBL Vibe Beam — Best Bass on a Budget (~$30)
The Vibe Beam does one thing exceptionally well: JBL Deep Bass. Out of the box, with zero EQ fiddling, these hit harder in the low end than anything near $30 has a right to. Hip-hop, EDM, pop — if your playlists live in the bass, the Vibe Beam delivers the fun factor immediately.
The trade-off is the missing ANC — there is none. You get passive isolation from the seal plus Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes (which pipe the outside world in when you want it). Battery is solid at 8 hours per charge and 32 hours total, and the JBL Headphones app offers EQ customization. At ~$30 street price, it is often the cheapest name-brand pair worth buying.
Pros:
- Powerful JBL Deep Bass tuning
- Lowest price of the two (~$30)
- 32-hour total battery, speed charging (10 min = 2 hrs)
- Ambient Aware + TalkThru modes
- IPX54 water/dust resistant, comfortable stick design
Cons:
- No active noise cancelling
- 8mm drivers — less detail than the P30i's 10mm
- Bluetooth 5.2 (a generation behind)
- Call quality is merely okay in noisy places
Best for: Bass lovers and anyone whose budget stops at $30.

Buying Guide: Budget Earbuds in 2026
ANC is the dividing line: Below $50, only a few models (like the P30i) offer real hybrid ANC. If you spend your day around noise — transit, open offices, airplanes — it is worth every penny of the premium.
Drivers are not everything: Bigger drivers (10mm vs 8mm) generally mean fuller sound, but tuning matters more. JBL's 8mm drivers sound bassier than many 10mm rivals because of how they are tuned.
Battery reality: Ignore "total" numbers for daily use — the per-charge figure (8-10h here) is what decides whether they die mid-day. Both of these clear a full workday easily.
Try the app: Both the Soundcore and JBL apps include EQ. Five minutes of tuning can transform a $30 pair from "fine" to "wait, these were $30?"
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is better, Soundcore P30i or JBL Vibe Beam?
The Soundcore P30i is better if you want active noise cancelling — its 42dB hybrid ANC is a feature the Vibe Beam simply does not have. The JBL Vibe Beam is better if you want the biggest bass and the lowest price (~$30 vs ~$40). For commuters and office use, the P30i wins; for bass lovers on a tight budget, the Vibe Beam wins.
Does the JBL Vibe Beam have noise cancelling?
No. The original JBL Vibe Beam does not have active noise cancelling — it relies on passive isolation from the ear tips, plus Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes for hearing your surroundings. If you want JBL noise cancelling at a budget price, look at the newer Vibe Beam 2, which adds ANC.
How long does the Soundcore P30i battery last?
Up to 10 hours on a single charge and 45 hours total with the charging case (ANC off). With ANC on, expect about 7 hours per charge and 30 hours total. A 10-minute quick charge gives roughly 2 hours of playback.
Soundcore P30i vs JBL Vibe Beam — which is better for calls?
The Soundcore P30i has the edge for calls, with 4 AI-powered microphones and noise reduction tuned for voices. The JBL Vibe Beam handles calls fine with VoiceAware (so you can hear your own voice), but the P30i's mic array is the stronger setup for noisy environments.
Final Verdict
In the Soundcore P30i vs JBL Vibe Beam battle, the P30i wins for most people — real ANC at ~$40 is simply the better deal. But the Vibe Beam wins on pure fun-per-dollar: if your budget is $30 firm and your playlists are bass-heavy, you will not find a better-sounding pair. Either way, you are getting far more than $30-40 bought five years ago.
