An overview of Windows 11 Phone Link integration, examining how the application handles device pairing, notification syncing, and call management across different mobile operating systems.
This app is called Phone Link and, in addition to making calls, it allows you to send messages and sync your phone's notifications to your computer screen. Although the connection process requires a few steps and iPhone owners have more limited options compared to Android users, setup is fairly simple.
How to connect your mobile phone
Before you begin, it's a good idea to make sure the app is up to date. You can check for updates through the Windows app store and see if there are any system updates available.
To connect an iPhone, you open the Phone Link app on your computer and select the appropriate option. Then, you scan a QR code, install the required app on your phone, and use Bluetooth to complete the connection.

The process with an Android device is done over Wi-Fi or mobile data, while Bluetooth is still required if you want to make calls. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.
How are calls made and what are the differences?
Once connected, you can go to the calls tab within the app. There you can search for saved contacts or type a number on the numeric keypad. If you plan to use your computer frequently for calls, you may want to use a headset with a microphone for greater convenience.
In terms of features, Android users have access to more features than iPhone owners. For example, Android users can view and copy recent photos from their phone to their computer, control the mute or do not disturb mode, and manage the music playing. In contrast, the connection with iPhone is limited to calls, messages, and viewing or dismissing notifications.
Regardless of the device you use, you can customize how personal data and unread message signals are displayed through the app's settings.
