Automotive engineering solutions increasingly span software, embedded systems, and global delivery networks, and recent corporate activity around Quest Global illustrates how the sector continues to consolidate and specialize.
In January 2026, AROBS Transilvania Software, the largest technology company listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, signed a transaction to acquire Quest Global Romania, part of Quest Global Engineering Services, an end-to-end global product engineering services company. Headquartered in Craiova, Quest Global Romania has around 110 specialists providing software application development, embedded solutions, and testing and quality assurance services to international clients, with technical expertise spanning web, mobile, desktop, and data-driven solutions across industries including automotive, healthcare, semiconductors, and oil & gas. The deal is Arobs' first paid entirely in equity, settled through newly issued shares subject to a one-year lock-up period.
AROBS acquires software engineering firm Quest Global Romania.
While this transaction saw Quest Global divest a regional unit, the parent company has simultaneously expanded elsewhere. Quest Global recently deepened its strategic relationship with UK defence and engineering group Babcock through a five-year Group Engineering Services framework, reflecting continued investment in large-scale, multi-domain engineering partnerships even as it streamlines specific regional operations.
Together, these moves show Quest Global actively reshaping its portfolio—divesting a smaller Romanian automotive-adjacent software unit while reinforcing long-term strategic engineering relationships elsewhere, a pattern consistent with how larger engineering services firms periodically refine focus areas to prioritize scale and strategic partnerships over smaller regional operations.
