LaTeX work is often described as writing, but a technical paper behaves more like a small software project. A paragraph can compile while still containing a wrong reference, a stale label, or a figure that no longer matches the text. That is why a useful workflow needs a render-test-revise loop.
1. Render a small slice first
Before compiling a 60-page thesis, work on the section that is changing. A short feedback cycle makes it easier to notice missing packages, broken citations, and layout regressions.
2. Test the source, not only the PDF
Search for undefined references, duplicate labels, overfull boxes, and citations that are not present in the bibliography. The PDF is the output; the .tex files are the source of truth.
3. Revise with context
When using an AI assistant, include the surrounding environment, local macros, citation keys, and the intended mathematical meaning. Asking for a rewrite of an isolated sentence can silently break notation.
4. Keep a human approval gate
An assistant can suggest a cleaner proof or a more concise paragraph, but the author still needs to check claims, sources, and equations. A green build does not prove that an argument is correct.
For teams that want the editor, AI assistance, and preview in one browser workflow, LaTeXEditor is worth trying. The important idea is not automatic writing; it is shortening the distance between a source change and a reviewable result.
