Building SentryOps: Safe Autonomous Incident Remediation with TrueForge and Qodo

When building autonomous agents for production infrastructure, autonomy without guardrails is dangerous. Standard chatbots can only suggest solutions, while unconstrained scripts can inadvertently cause downtime.

For The Agent Harness Hackathon, I built SentryOps—an autonomous incident response agent powered by TrueForge and code-reviewed by Qodo.

🛠️ The Architecture

SentryOps connects directly to telemetry systems and follows a strict remediation loop:

1. Incident Trigger: Ingests alerts (e.g., connection pool exhaustion).
2. Tool Invocations (MCP): Queries traces and service logs via Model Context Protocol.
3. Sandboxed Testing: Runs regression bisect scripts in an isolated container to pinpoint failing commits.
4. Approval Gate: Halts before any irreversible production operation (e.g., rollback).
5. Human Authorization: Proceeds only when an engineer approves.

⚙️ How TrueForge Powered the Agent

TrueForge provided the critical agent harness layer:

• Managing multi-step diagnostic reasoning loops.
• Maintaining persistent session state across disconnects.
• Enforcing a strict pause state before executing sensitive rollback procedures.

🧪 Code Quality with Qodo

Following hackathon best practices, all development went through Pull Requests analyzed by Qodo. Qodo helped validate state-transition edge cases, enforced Pydantic schema validation on API payloads, and verified test coverage before any merge into main.
