I'm a solo operator running a multichannel reseller stack. No team, no warehouse, no VA. Four marketplaces, one spreadsheet, one CLI. Here is what I learned cloning Hustlin Hooks on Gumroad ($50, 7 Gumroad ratings).

The Channels

eBay — highest volume, worst fee stack (12–15% + payment processing)
Poshmark — flat 20% on most categories, shipping label COGS per order
Mercari — 10% seller fee, buyers expect free shipping
Etsy — listing fees + transaction fees + payment processing

Each channel has different fee math. Gross sale minus thrift cost is not net profit on any of them.

Lesson 2: One Stack, Not Four Spreadsheets

I standardized on three logs Hustlin Hooks bundles:

sales-log.csv — gross, fees, shipping COGS, net per order per platform
inventory.csv — days listed, cost basis, list price, channel
expenses.csv — label COGS per SKU (not monthly overhead)

One reseller_dashboard.py CLI reads all three. No SaaS subscription. No pip installs.

Lesson 3: Niche Down Ruthlessly

Not "everyone who sells online" but "eBay and Poshmark resellers who track gross revenue and wonder why payouts feel small." Specific audiences are easier to find on dev.to and easier to serve with one CSV shape.

Lesson 4: Ship Before You Are Ready

Hustlin Hooks launched with rough edges and still has 7 Gumroad ratings. I cloned the three-log shape at EUR 9 one-time (vs $50 on Gumroad) and shipped the buyer channel before perfecting every template.

What I Would Do Differently

Start tracking net per platform from day one (not after the first "good month" that felt bad)
Log shipping COGS per order, not as a monthly lump sum
Flag aging inventory at 60 days, not 90
