Microsoft reports that state-linked hackers breached ConnectWise backup services, stealing client access credentials and targeting roughly 2,250 organizations at rates near 3,000 login attempts per minute using AI tooling.
According to Microsoft, the attackers targeted approximately 2.250 organizations.
Microsoft said hackers were making nearly 3.000 login attempts per minute. That rate leaves security officials little time to detect the attempts and react.
The researchers attribute this speed to the use of artificial intelligence tools. The tool they call ARTEX, an open tool that works with artificial intelligence models to test digital defenses.
