Why
Ask an AI assistant about markets and you usually get a confident answer with no source. "Goldman thinks…", "analysts expect…" — but which report, which page? For analysts and investors, a claim without a citation is not usable.
ReportGem (报告驿站) turned its research library into a remote MCP server so AI assistants can search it and quote the original passages with page numbers:
- 16 million+ global investment-bank reports (Goldman Sachs, Citi, HSBC, UBS, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Nomura and more), with same-day real-time coverage
- 5 million+ reports from 200+ Chinese brokers and futures firms
- 20 million+ China company announcements, US SEC filings, 130,000+ earnings calls and meeting notes, 5 million+ academic papers, and in-report charts
This post shows how to connect it to the most common MCP clients.

Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user reportgem https://www.reportgem.com/mcp
Start claude, type /mcp, select reportgem, finish the browser login and check that the status is connected.
Codex CLI
codex mcp add reportgem --url https://www.reportgem.com/mcp
codex mcp login reportgem
Or add this to ~/.codex/config.toml, then run codex mcp login reportgem:
[mcp_servers.reportgem]
url = "https://www.reportgem.com/mcp"
Cursor, Cline, VS Code and other clients
Merge into your MCP configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"reportgem": {
"url": "https://www.reportgem.com/mcp"
}
}
}
Cursor and VS Code also have one-click install buttons in the GitHub README.
Verify without logging in
initialize and tools/list are open, so you can check connectivity first:
curl -s https://www.reportgem.com/mcp \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list","params":{}}'
You should see five tools. Calling a tool (tools/call) requires the OAuth login; without it you get a 401.
Try these prompts
- "Use reportgem: what is Goldman Sachs' latest view on NVIDIA? Quote the source and page."
- "Compare Citi and Morgan Stanley forecasts for Fed rate cuts in 2026."
- "Find a chart of global AI server shipment forecasts and tell me which report it comes from."
Troubleshooting
- 401 on a tool call: the OAuth login has not been completed yet; trigger authorization again in your client.
- Wrong URL: use the
/mcpendpoint, not the website page. - Billing: only returned research text is billed (1 credit = 10,000 tokens); titles, questions and failed or empty results are free.
