Developer Daniel Blanco has ported Nvidia DLSS 5 support to AMD Radeon RX 6000, 7000, and 9000 series hardware.
The mod leverages a 158MB leaked file to implement neural rendering on architectures for which the technology was not originally intended.
This release provides a technical look at how community-driven modding is bridging the gap while users wait for AMD's native RDNA 5-based neural rendering solutions.
How was it possible?
The mod's creator, Daniel Blanco, used a 158MB file that leaked online in late August 2026. This file enabled the technology to be enabled on AMD Radeon RX 6000, 7000, and 9000 series cards. DLSS 5 was originally designed for Nvidia's RTX 5000 series cards, with plans to later add it to the RTX 4000 series.
How it performs on AMD cards
According to the developer, on a Radeon RX 9070 XT card, the refresh rate reaches 90 to 100 frames per second at 1080p resolution. However, user reports indicate that the experience is smoother when the same technology is running on an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti, compared to the Radeon RX 9070 XT.
AMD's stance and content
AMD does not yet have its own technology that corresponds to DLSS 5, although there are rumors that it is preparing something similar for its future cards.

Support for DLSS 5 in games remains limited for now. NBA 2K27 has had official support since September 3, 2026, while Hogwarts Legacy is expected to add the feature on November 5, 2026.
