If you've shipped Shorts or Reels with "text-only" AI video tools, you already know the failure mode: every render invents new motion. The walk changes. The camera path drifts. The timing that made the hook work is gone.
For ads and music teasers, that usually means you regenerate until something kinda matches — or you book another shoot day.
There's a cleaner workflow: keep motion and timing as the source of truth, then restyle the world around it.
That's the idea behind Genjutsu AI — an AI video generator that starts from a viral template (or your own reference clip), adds photos for who/what should appear, and treats choreography + camera intent as locked unless you ask otherwise.
Why text-only generators struggle for publishable cuts
Text-to-video is great for moodboards and exploration. It's weaker when you already have:
- an approved performance
- a dance / gesture timing that must stay on beat
- a camera move marketing already signed off on
- a need for market variants (same delivery, new packaging / set / wardrobe) In those cases you don't want new motion. You want the same take, different look. ## A practical 3-input pass A typical Genjutsu-style pass looks like this:
- Motion source — pick a viral template, or upload a short reference video (often ~4–30s) with readable subject motion and stable framing.
- Identity / product stills — one or two photos (product, wardrobe, environment). Photos beat dumping everything into the prompt.
- Optional constraints prompt — plain language locks: keep the walk and the lens push; change the jacket and the skyline. Then preview, spend credits only when you're ready, and download variants for ads, Shorts, Reels, or localized landing pages. ## When this beats a reshoot A reshoot buys new motion on a new day. A reference-first generator reuses motion you already trust, and spends budget on look / set / product iterations. Useful for:
- Growth marketers localizing packaging from one approved take
- Music / performance creators spinning several looks from one viral template
- Solo creators upgrading phone footage without rebuilding the edit
- Agencies locking performance first, then iterating until creative signs off ## Tips that actually improve results
- Prefer a clean, short clip: clear subject, limited shake, intentional lighting.
- Don't overload the prompt — put product / style into stills.
- Ask for a narrow rewrite (one SKU, one backdrop, one grade) instead of discarding the whole take.
- Don't upload photos of real people to replace faces/identities; restyle scene and product around motion you control.
- Confirm music rights, product permissions, and talent likeness before paid media. ## Quick start
- Open the generator on genjutsuai.app
- Keep the viral template, or upload your own reference video + photos
- Add an optional prompt that names what must stay locked
- Check credit cost → render → download If your bottleneck is calendar time — not ideas — protecting motion and timing is usually the faster path to more channel-ready cuts.
