VITI Magazine – Special Feature: The Recovery Clinic
Part 7: "How to Survive Life Without a Single Email Meeting" – The CAB Survivors' Support Group
Editor’s Note: Following the deployment of the Business Impact Governance Framework (BIGF v2.4), an unexpected psychological crisis hit enterprise headquarters. With autonomous runtime gates handling DDoS mitigation in 0.9 seconds and executing Continuous Cryptographic Resilience, middle management was left with an unbearable vacuum: empty calendars. VITI infiltrated the first official meeting of the CAB Survivors' Support Group.
Therapeut (VITI): Welcome, everyone. Let’s go around the circle. Who would like to share first?
Hannele (Former ITIL Change Manager): (Sniffling, clutching a blank 3-ring binder) Hi. My name is Hannele, and... and I haven't scheduled an emergency alignment meeting in four days. Yesterday, a critical vulnerability was patched automatically by the system using Tri-axial Actuation Boundaries (B × S × T). Nobody asked for my permission. Nobody sent me an Excel spreadsheet. The runtime engine just verified the state, wrote a Canonical Decision Record (CDR) secured by Ed25519 cryptographic signatures, and moved on. I... I had to spend my Tuesday afternoon actually doing productive work. It felt so empty.
Pena (Former Excel Risk Coordinator, 58 yrs): (Rocking back and forth) It’s the color-coding, VITI. For twenty years, my entire existence was defined by moving spreadsheet cells from yellow to green to satisfy auditors. Now, BIGF enforces ** fixed-point arithmetic (10^-4 precision)** and Fail-Closed Gates directly in the CI/CD pipeline. The machine doesn't care about my feelings. It doesn't want my 300-page slide deck. It just evaluates the Business Impact Integrity Index (BIII) and trips a hard halt if compliance telemetry drops. My yellow highlighters are drying out!
Jorma (Former Lead Auditor, age 63): (Staring into an empty coffee cup) You think you have it bad? I brought my famous rubber stamp to the office this morning. I waited by the conference room door for eight hours. No three-ring binders showed up. No sweaty IT staff begging for a change window. The audit was completed in four milliseconds via automated Policy-as-Code attestation linked directly to DORA Article 15 and NIS2 compliance. I didn't even get to write "Opportunity for Improvement" once. How am I supposed to justify my daily billing rate if the system is mathematically bulletproof?
Therapist (VITI): I hear your pain, my friends. The transition from bureaucratic process theater to machine-verifiable runtime governance is brutal. But we must adapt. What are your coping mechanisms?
Hannele: We formed a subcommittee to draft a framework for studying when we might eventually schedule a meeting to discuss the feasibility of holding a workshop about the lack of meetings.
Pena: And I’m writing a macro in Excel that calculates how depressed we are on a scale of red, yellow, and green.
Therapist: Well... at least you're keeping the spreadsheet heritage alive.
The Takeaway
As corporate process owners learn to cope with empty calendars, the world is moving toward deterministic execution. You can try to schedule all the recovery meetings you want, but math doesn't need a calendar invite.
P.S. Ready to ditch the support group and automate your compliance?
