Xiaomi devices offset hardware costs with built-in ads and system recommendations across MIUI and HyperOS.
This guide outlines how to disable system ad services, advertising IDs, and app-level promotional content through device settings.
If you have such a device and want to limit ads, there are specific settings that can help.
How to close system center ads
First, you can disable the system's ad-serving app. Go to settings, then passwords and security (or the corresponding options if your device is running a newer software version), and select the msa component's deauthorization.
In the same section, by going to privacy and ad services, you can also disable personalized ad suggestions.

Disable ads in individual apps
Additional settings can be applied individually to various built-in applications:
- Downloads and Topics: You can go into the settings of each app individually and turn off content suggestions and ads.
- Music: The option to disable suggestions is located in the app's advanced settings.
- Web browser: Deactivation is done through the application's privacy and security settings.
- Security and File Management: Additional steps are required from each app's settings to turn off content suggestions or withdraw consent to view them, depending on the software version.
Final privacy settings
In the Google services settings within the phone, you can reset and delete the digital ID used for advertising purposes.
Finally, you can completely disable notifications from apps that send advertising content, keeping in mind that doing so may also result in missing useful notifications from the same apps.
