Key Criteria for Selecting a SharePoint Development Partner
When evaluating vendors for your SharePoint initiative, consider these key technical and business criteria:
Microsoft Partner Status: Confirm certified competencies in Digital & App Innovation or Modern Work.
SPFx Mastery: Modern SharePoint relies heavily on the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) using React or Angular, rather than legacy server-side C# code. Ensure your vendor specializes in modern front-end frameworks.
Power Platform Ecosystem Synergy: A qualified SharePoint partner should be proficient in Power Automate (for workflows) and Power Apps (for custom user interfaces).
Migration & Governance Capabilities: Migrating data requires proper planning. Your partner must establish permissions, taxonomy, sensitivity labels, and retention schedules to prevent content sprawl over time.
Change Management Support: Technical setup requires ongoing adoption strategies. Look for vendors that provide training resources, user onboarding, and technical support post-launch.
