Yaazh Hosted Preview vs Mac App: Which Should You Use?
Yaazh offers two paths that look similar on the surface—Generate, Voices, Studio, Effects, Live, Agents, Share—but they are not the same product promise. One is a free shared preview in the browser. The other is a local Mac app that is still Coming soon.
If you confuse them, you may drop a family sample into a demo environment that can reset, or wait for a DMG that is not fake-live yet. This guide keeps the comparison educate-first and tied to what the brand actually publishes.
The short answer
- Use the hosted studio to explore the idea: type a line, hear Adam / Bella / Heart / Rasa, poke Studio and Effects, learn the permission culture.
- Plan on Mac when a voice must stay private, permanent, and on your device.
- Do not treat the free preview as unlimited private cloud.
That is the whole thesis. The rest is detail so you can decide without marketing fog.
What “hosted” means for Yaazh
The free studio lives at app.yaazh.nexageapps.com. Per Pricing:
- It is a public preview on a shared server
- You can create a voice, Generate, Studio, Live, Agents
- Built-in voices include Adam, Bella, Heart, and Tamil Rasa
- It is shared — not private
- Demo storage may be reset anytime (no login = no long-term file promise)
There is no Yaazh account. That is a privacy-friendly motto line, and it is also why permanence cannot be guaranteed on the shared box.
Practical rule from the pricing page: Don’t clone a voice you’ll need later into the free preview if you want permanence and privacy. Download Mac when you want those.
What “Mac” means for Yaazh
The Mac app is the local-first destination:
- Voices, clones, and audio are meant to stay on your device
- Models download after install—not packed as a fake “everything inside the DMG” story
- Unlock is a personal desktop license story (one license → one Mac; free an activation via Support if needed)
- Status today: Coming soon
Because the notarized build is not the thing to invent, Yaazh points people to:
- Join Mac beta — email when the download is ready
- Download page — when a real build exists
- Soft founding unlock notes on Pricing (see below)—buy unlock may be in test mode, so do not hard-claim “buy now / you’ll be charged”
Side-by-side comparison
Privacy
| Topic | Hosted preview | Mac (when available) |
|---|---|---|
| Who shares the machine? | Many users on a shared server | Your Mac |
| Are clones private by default? | No — shared preview | Designed to keep voices on device |
| Account required? | No | No Yaazh account; license key for unlock |
Storage & permanence
| Topic | Hosted preview | Mac |
|---|---|---|
| Long-term files | Not promised; demo storage may reset | Intended for keeping work locally |
| Best for family keepsakes? | No | Yes, once you have the app |
Features you can expect in both concepts
Both surfaces speak the same studio language: Generate, Voices, Studio, Effects, Live, Agents, Share. Share means export locally; Yaazh never auto-posts Instagram.
Hosted is for trying that language. Mac is for living in it.
Price posture (soft)
- Hosted: free preview
- Mac founding story: $0.99 lifetime for the first 1,000,000 Mac customers when live, via Lemon Squeezy, one Mac per license
- Free preview users are not counted in that 1M
- Checkout messaging may show local currency equivalents
- If unlock UI is in test mode, treat it as a dry run—no hard “you will be charged now” claims
Always re-read Pricing before money decisions; this article will not invent live-charge status.
Decision guide
Choose hosted preview if you want to:
- Hear Kokoro English (Adam, Bella, Heart) or Piper Tamil (Rasa) in minutes
- Learn Studio timelines and Effects packs without installing anything
- Show a teammate “what Yaazh feels like” with non-precious text
Wait for / join Mac if you want to:
- Keep permissioned clones that must not vanish in a demo reset
- Prefer on-device permanence over a shared server
- Use a personal lifetime unlock when that path is actually live
Do neither of these:
- Clone a sensitive family voice only into the shared preview “for now”
- Assume a multi-seat company license (one Mac per license)
- Expect Yaazh to log into Instagram and publish for you
A calm migration mindset
- Experiment in the browser with built-ins.
- Join the Mac beta early so you are on the email list.
- When Mac is ready, recreate important voices with permission on your machine.
- Keep Share as an export habit, not an auto-publish fantasy.
Soft CTA
Open the Yaazh home page for the product story, try the hosted studio for a first line of speech, and join the Mac beta if permanence matters. Pricing and unlock caveats live on yaazh.nexageapps.com/pricing. Support: tally.so/r/68qaRJ.
FAQ
Is the hosted studio the same as the Mac app?
Same studio idea; different privacy and permanence promises. Hosted is shared preview. Mac keeps work on your device.
Why might my free preview files disappear?
No account and no personal cloud. Demo storage may reset so the preview stays usable for everyone.
When can I download the Mac app?
Coming soon. Join the beta for an email when a real download is ready. Yaazh does not point Download at a fake file.
Does one license cover my whole family of Macs?
One license unlocks one Mac. Use Support to free an activation if you need to move machines.
Is buy unlock charging me today?
Unlock may be in test mode. Read the live Pricing page; do not assume a charge until the product says so clearly.
