Most “voice AI tools ask you to sign up, paste text into a cloud box, and hope the recording stays yours. Yaazh is built for a quieter idea: keep a voice close—on purpose, with permission—without turning that voice into someone elses training dump.
Yaazh is the Voice AI studio from NexageApps. The name comes from யழ் (yaazh), the ancient Tamil harp. The tagline is simple: Keep their voice close — even when they cant be. The motto on the product site is just as plain: No account · No ads · No server · Privacy first.
This article explains what Yaazh is (and is not), which pieces you can try today, and how to think about privacy before you clone anyone.
The idea in one sentence
Yaazh helps you generate speech, work with built-in voices, and—only with permission—clone a voice you are allowed to keep, for stories, reminders, and everyday moments. It is not a replacement for people. It is a way to carry warmth carefully.
That distinction matters. A lullaby from a parent, a pep talk from a friend, or your own voice for days when typing feels heavy can be meaningful. The same tools used without consent are harmful. Yaazhs public messaging leans hard on permission: only use voices you have permission to keep.
What you can do in the studio
The product is organized around local-first surfaces you will see across the site and app:
- Generate — type a line, pick a voice, hear speech
- Voices — built-ins plus voices you create with permission
- Studio multi-voice narratives on a timeline
- Effects — packs such as Phone call, Warm hug, Radio host, Storytime, Temple hall, Night whisper (plus classics), with dry/wet preview before you save
- Live — speak in the studio; transcription stays on-device in the Mac-oriented design
- Agents — assign a voice and preview speech (advanced users can wire optional MCP later)
- Share export a Story or Reel locally; Yaazh never auto-posts to Instagram
You do not need a Yaazh login account to try the public preview. That is intentional.
Built-in voices (no cloning required)
If you only want to hear speech without cloning anyone, Yaazh ships built-in options:
- Adam, Bella, and Heart — English speakers via Kokoro
- Rasa — Tamil via Piper (described on the site as a real female speaker)
New Generate sessions are designed to default to Adam · English · Kokoro so a first line is not “voice missing.” That is enough for many demos, scripts, and accessibility-style readouts.
Cloning: permission first, permanence second
Cloning exists, but the brand lock is ethical before it is technical:
- Get permission to keep the voice.
- Prefer permanence and privacy on your own machine when the voice matters.
- Do not treat a clone as a substitute for the person.
The free hosted studio at app.yaazh.nexageapps.com is a shared preview, not a private vault. Demo storage may reset anytime because there is no login and no personal cloud promise. The pricing page is blunt: don’t clone a voice you’ll need later into the free preview if you care about keeping it.
When you want files and clones to stay with you, the Mac app is the intended path. It is Coming soonjoin the beta rather than chasing a fake live DMG.
Hosted preview vs Mac (high level)
| Free hosted preview | Mac app | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to try | Free | Founding unlock planned when live |
| Account | No Yaazh account | No Yaazh account; license key when unlock is available |
| Privacy | Shared server / not private | Voices and audio on your device |
| Storage | Demo storage may reset | Built for permanence |
| Status | Live preview | Coming soon — Join beta |
Details and caveats belong in a dedicated comparison; the short version is: try ideas in the browser, keep family voices on Mac when it ships.
What Yaazh is not
To stay honest for SEO readers (and for yourselves):
- It is not unlimited private cloud storage on the free preview
- It does not auto-post to Instagram
- It does not require a Yaazh login account
- It does not guarantee clone quality
- One Mac license is intended for one Mac, not multi-seat redistribution
Optional advanced note: agents can use MCP tool naming such as voicebox.speak via app.yaazh.nexageapps.com/mcp. That is advanced and optional—most readers can ignore it until they need agent speech.
Who Yaazh is for
- People who want on-device or local-first speech tools with a clear ethics line
- Tamil and English creators who want built-in Rasa / Kokoro voices without inventing a workflow from scratch
- Families exploring permissioned keepsakes—not celebrity deepfakes
- Developers who may later want a local voice API style workflow on their machine
If you need guaranteed enterprise SaaS SLAs, multi-seat admin panels, or “post this Reel for me,” look elsewhere. Yaazh’s pitch is quieter.
Soft next steps
- Read the product story on the Yaazh home page.
- Try Generate with Adam or Rasa in the free hosted studio—remember it is shared and may reset.
- If Mac permanence matters, join the Mac beta and watch Download for when a real build is ready.
- Skim Pricing for the founding unlock story (test-mode caveats included).
- Questions? Support.
You do not have to buy anything to understand Yaazh. Start with a single line of speech, keep permission sacred, and move to Mac when you need privacy that a shared preview cannot promise.
