If you build products with Tailwind CSS, switching back to old-school HTML emails feels painful.
Instead of writing clean utility classes, you end up fighting inline styles, outdated markup, and email client quirks.
That’s why I found TailwindMail interesting.
It lets you write emails using Tailwind CSS, preview them visually, and compile them into email-safe HTML.
Instead of this
<a href="#" style="background:#2563eb;color:#fff;padding:12px 24px;border-radius:8px;text-decoration:none;font-weight:600;">
Get started
</a>
You write this
<a href="#" class="rounded-lg bg-blue-600 px-6 py-3 font-semibold text-white no-underline">
Get started
</a>
That alone already feels much better as a developer.
Why this is useful
Building emails usually means:
- writing messy inline CSS
- testing broken layouts in Gmail/Outlook
- editing templates that are hard to maintain
With TailwindMail, the workflow feels much more modern:
- write with Tailwind
- preview visually
- compile to email HTML
- export and use with your existing stack
So if you already use Tailwind in your apps, this feels instantly familiar.
What I liked
- Tailwind-based email authoring
- visual editor + code workflow
- reusable email templates
- exportable HTML for real email sending workflows
You can use the output with whatever you already use:
- Laravel
- Resend
- Postmark
- SES
- Mailgun
- SMTP
Screenshots
Write with Tailwind classes, preview visually, and export email-ready HTML.
Useful for welcome emails, verification emails, OTPs, product updates, and more.
Final thought
HTML email still has all the usual quirks.
But the authoring experience does not need to feel outdated.
If you like Tailwind and you build emails often, TailwindMail is definitely worth checking out.
