Looking to buy Risk of Rain 2 in Singapore without paying Steam's full listed price or waiting on an overseas key reseller? Here's what you're actually getting with a Risk of Rain 2 Steam key, and why buying local matters more than people expect.
What is Risk of Rain 2?
Risk of Rain 2 is a 3D third-person action roguelike from Hopoo Games, the sequel to the 2013 2D side-scroller Risk of Rain. You crash-land on a hostile alien world and fight through procedurally generated stages, picking up items along the way that stack together to make your character dramatically stronger over the course of a run. Play solo or team up with up to three friends in online co-op.
How Risk of Rain 2 actually plays
Every run starts small and snowballs fast. You fight through waves of monsters on a stage, collect items that boost your stats in ways that combine and stack, then head for a teleporter that opens the next stage once enough enemies are cleared. The twist is the difficulty clock: the longer you spend exploring a stage, the tougher the monsters that appear become.
Multiple playable Survivors are available from the start or unlockable through in-game challenges, including returning favourites like the Commando, Huntress, and Engineer alongside newer additions like the Artificer and MUL-T. With 75+ items to find and combine, no two runs play out quite the same way.
What players and critics say
Risk of Rain 2 holds a Metacritic score of 85 and an OpenCritic score of 86, putting it firmly among the best-reviewed roguelikes on PC. On Steam, it sits at roughly 93% positive across more than 230,000 reviews, an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating that has held steady since its 2020 full release.
