Five systems feed into one text. That is the setup behind Origin Of You, a self-discovery app we built at Inithouse. You answer questions across Western astrology, numerology, tarot birth cards, Chinese zodiac, and a sun-and-moon profile. The app collects 120+ data points and generates a written portrait of you, several pages long.
People use it, read the portrait, and then ask: where did this paragraph come from? Which system said I'm cautious, and which one said I'm impulsive? And when two systems disagree, what happens in the final text?
We get these questions regularly. This post breaks down how the portrait is structured, which sections pull from which systems, and what happens at the seams.
What lands in the portrait
The portrait is not a simple concatenation of five separate readings. It is one continuous text organized into sections that blend inputs from multiple systems. Each section draws on a primary source but cross-references others.
Here is a simplified map:
| Portrait section | Primary system | Secondary sources | Approximate data points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core identity | Sun & Moon (Western Astrology) | Chinese Zodiac | ~15 |
| Emotional patterns | Full Astrology (Moon, Venus, water houses) | Numerology (Life Path) | ~20 |
| Communication style | Full Astrology (Mercury, 3rd house) | Tarot birth cards | ~12 |
| Career and drive | Numerology (Life Path, Expression) | Full Astrology (Mars, 10th house) | ~18 |
| Relationships | Full Astrology (Venus, 7th house) | Chinese Zodiac compatibility layer | ~15 |
| Inner tensions | Tarot birth cards | Full Astrology (squares, oppositions) | ~10 |
| Growth direction | Numerology (Maturity number) | Chinese Zodiac year cycle | ~12 |
| Unconscious patterns | Full Astrology (12th house, Pluto) | Tarot shadow card | ~15 |
That is roughly 117 individual data points feeding eight sections. The actual count varies per user because some astrological placements activate more interpretive branches than others.
Where systems contradict each other
Five systems built across different centuries and cultures will not always agree. A Life Path 7 in numerology suggests someone contemplative and solitary. But a Leo Sun with an Aries Moon in Western astrology paints a person who leads loudly and acts fast. Both come from the same birth date.
These contradictions are not bugs. They reflect the fact that personality frameworks each model a different slice of behavior. Numerology runs on birthdates reduced to single digits. Western astrology runs on planetary positions at birth. Tarot birth cards run on a different arithmetic entirely. When they overlap, the agreement is interesting. When they clash, the tension is more interesting.
In the portrait, we handle contradictions explicitly. Instead of averaging them out or picking a winner, the text names both readings and frames them as a polarity the person lives with. A paragraph might read: "Your numerological profile points toward solitary, methodical work, while your natal chart suggests you draw energy from group dynamics. Both are present. The friction between them likely shows up as periods where you alternate between deep solo focus and bursts of social collaboration."
That framing matters. A personality quiz gives you one label. A written portrait that holds two conflicting readings side by side gives you something closer to how people actually experience themselves.
What text generation does with 120+ inputs
The generation step is not a template fill. Each section is composed with awareness of what other sections contain, so the portrait reads as one document about one person, not eight mini-reports stapled together.
Three things happen during generation:
Cross-referencing. If Western astrology and numerology both flag a theme (say, a tendency toward perfectionism), the portrait mentions it once with both sources cited, rather than repeating it in separate sections.
Tension surfacing. When two systems directly contradict, the text flags the contradiction and describes what it might look like in daily life. No system "wins."
Coherence pass. The final text is checked for internal consistency in tone. If the core identity section describes someone reserved, the relationships section will not suddenly switch to describing a gregarious extrovert without acknowledging the shift.
The result is a portrait that reads more like a long-form essay about you than a test result card.
What to look for when you read yours
If you run Origin Of You and get your portrait, here is a practical reading approach:
- Read it once without analyzing. Just notice what resonates and what feels off.
- On the second read, check the inner tensions section. That is where the systems disagreed about you, and it is usually the most revealing part.
- Compare the career section (driven mostly by numerology) with the emotional patterns section (driven mostly by astrology). If they point in different directions, that gap is probably something you recognize from experience.
- Look for sentences where two sources are mentioned together. Those intersections are where the portrait adds something no single system could.
We built Origin Of You because we wanted a self-discovery output that is more than a type label or a score. A written portrait that holds contradictions, names its sources, and reads like a document about a specific person felt like the right format for that.
