A tool that is excellent at one stage may be a poor source of truth at another.

Meshy fits the concept-asset layer. A team may need a quick pavilion, small building, landscape object, or visual placeholder to test composition. Rapid 3D generation reduces the cost of trying a form and can improve the speed of early design reviews.
The handoff rule is simple: concept geometry is not automatically production geometry. Store the prompt or source assumptions, mark approximate dimensions, and rebuild any element that becomes structurally, spatially, or quantitatively significant.
3. Tripo3D: rapid alternative studies
Tripo3D occupies a similar but distinct role. It is useful when the team wants to iterate across several broad forms quickly and inspect them as navigable objects. This can support studies of small structures, sculptural landscape components, temporary installations, or early environmental composition.
Use a lightweight decision log. For each candidate, record what is intentional, what is provisional, and what must be reconstructed with controlled topology or parametric geometry. Without that log, a fast study can become an undocumented dependency.

Civil 3D becomes the authoritative environment when the project must coordinate real site engineering. Site3D can serve as a focused site and terrain layer between concept and engineering. Confirm the current release's import, export, coordinate, and documentation behavior before relying on it for a larger pipeline.

Move to Civil 3D when the project needs controlled grading, infrastructure, quantities, and documentation.
This sequence is not mandatory, but the principle is: do not promote a model to a higher standard of truth without carrying its assumptions forward. The best tool is the one that reduces the next risk while keeping the next handoff legible.
