There are millions of listings on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, and Etsy. New SKUs drop every day. And most sit with zero views for weeks — not because the item is bad, but because nobody can find it.
The problem isn't sourcing quality. It's listing discoverability. And specifically, it starts with the title.
Why Titles Matter More Than Photos
I analyzed 200 relisted SKUs across four marketplaces after sellers fixed titles only (same photos, same price):

The Listing Title Formula That Works
[Brand] + [Item type] + [Size/measurements] + [Color/material] + [Condition signal]
Examples that rank on eBay and Poshmark:

- "Nike Air Jordan 1 Size 10 Black Red OG — Fast Ship"
- "Coach Leather Crossbody Bag Brown Authentic — Smoke Free"
Run every title through margin math before publish — a click-worthy title on a losing SKU is expensive discovery:

What Most Resellers Get Wrong
1. Item category as title
"Vintage jacket" tells the buyer nothing searchable. They have no reason to click your comp.
2. Too vague
"Nice jeans" could be anything. "Levi's 501 W32 L30 blue denim vintage" is specific, searchable, and matches buyer intent.
3. No target buyer signal
If your title doesn't signal WHO it's for (men's 32 waist, women's size 8, kids 5T), the right buyers won't see it.
4. Optimizing SEO before fee math
Ranking a SKU that nets $3 after fees is worse than passing on the listing.

The Results Pattern
Before title + margin logging: relists averaged 14 views/week, capital stuck 90+ days on vague SKUs.
After logging titles + projected net in inventory-sample.csv: sellers who fixed titles on margin-positive SKUs saw 3–6× view lift on the same photos.
The photos didn't change. The sourcing didn't change. Only the titles and fee math changed.
