For an anime fan, it can become a surprisingly complicated product problem.

Performance is part of UX
A visually rich discovery interface can quickly become expensive.
Large artwork, cards, animations, fonts, and third-party scripts can all affect the time it takes for a page to become usable.
That makes performance part of the product experience.
Some of the fundamentals remain surprisingly practical:
- optimize images
- use modern image formats where appropriate
- lazy-load content below the fold
- reduce unnecessary JavaScript
- avoid layout shifts
- keep interactive elements responsive
- limit unnecessary third-party dependencies
