Encode the full string including country code and any ?body= query. iPhone and Android cameras open the dialer or Messages with the number (and optional pre-filled text) ready.
Tip: put tel QR on door decals, fleet vans, and event badges; use sms QR on product labels when you want a short pre-filled inquiry.
