Weather can push things back too. Digging a trench for underground wiring isn't much fun in January, so a lot of homeowners try to time the work for spring or fall if they can.
Planning for a Second Vehicle
Anyone thinking about a second EV down the road should size the panel for that now. It costs less to plan ahead than to redo the work later, and it saves the hassle of a second permit and inspection down the line.
A charger doesn't need much once it's in. Somebody charging every single day should still get it looked at once in a while, just so nothing sneaks up later.
