If you bought an EV in 2026, the single spec that quietly shapes your range, your wallet and your charging routine is not the motor — it is the battery chemistry. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) are the two chemistries powering almost every electric car on the road, and they behave very differently.
