AI moves quickly, but the real problem for developers is not a lack of information. It is the cost of deciding what is worth reading.
Model releases, agent frameworks, infrastructure updates, safety research, pricing changes, and new developer tools appear across dozens of sources every day. Following everything directly creates a second job. Ignoring the stream means missing changes that may affect what we build.
I created Hex2077 as a Chinese AI news and intelligence hub to make that filtering process more practical.
The goal: useful signals, not a longer feed
The project is designed around a simple question:
What does a developer or AI practitioner need to know today, and what deserves deeper attention this week?
The daily briefing collects notable developments from China and the rest of the world. Instead of reproducing every announcement, it focuses on items that can influence technical choices, product decisions, costs, security, or the direction of the industry.
The weekly report then steps back from individual headlines and looks for connections between them. A model release may be interesting on its own, but it becomes more useful when compared with changes in pricing, infrastructure, regulation, and developer adoption.
A structure that keeps the information usable
The coverage is organized around several recurring areas:
- large language models and multimodal systems;
- AI agents and agent infrastructure;
- developer tools, APIs, and coding workflows;
- compute, chips, data centers, and model economics;
- safety, governance, and industry policy;
- practical AI products that developers can test or integrate.
This structure prevents the briefing from becoming a random collection of links. It also makes it easier to follow a topic over time instead of treating every announcement as an isolated event.
Daily speed, weekly context
The site uses two different publishing rhythms because they solve different problems.
The daily AI briefing is for awareness. It provides a compact view of the developments that may matter immediately.
The weekly deep-signal report is for understanding. It revisits the strongest stories, compares related events, and highlights the larger technical or commercial trend behind them.
Keeping these formats separate has been useful. Daily notes can stay concise, while the weekly report has enough room to explain why several apparently unrelated events belong to the same pattern.
More than a list of articles
I also wanted the information to be accessible through the tools developers already use. Hex2077 therefore includes:
- an AI timeline for reviewing developments chronologically;
- an AI tools directory;
- RSS access for feed readers and automations;
- an Agent Skill integration for retrieving the latest curated briefing from a custom AI agent.
The agent entry point is documented at hex2077.dev/agent. The idea is not to replace the source material or independent verification. It is to make the first stage of discovery faster, so developers can spend more time reading the items that are actually relevant to their work.
What I learned while building it
A few principles have become increasingly important:
- Selection is more valuable than volume. A short briefing with clear reasons for inclusion is more useful than a large link dump.
- Context has a longer shelf life than headlines. The weekly analysis often remains useful after the individual news cycle has ended.
- Chinese and international AI ecosystems need to be read together. Product strategy, model capability, regulation, and infrastructure increasingly affect one another across markets.
- Every summary should lead back to action. A reader should know whether an item deserves testing, monitoring, deeper research, or no immediate response.
- Distribution should be flexible. A website is useful, but RSS and agent-friendly access make the information easier to include in real workflows.
