The idea
I like experimenting with small products built around emerging search behavior.
One of the patterns I noticed was people searching for phrases around
"truck wala music", "salon wala music", bus playlists, and similar
scene-based music experiences in India.
Instead of building another generic playlist site, I decided to test a
different idea:
What if each everyday scene became its own radio station?
That became Wala Vibes.
From keywords to a product
The important part was not simply creating pages for keywords.
I tried to turn each intent into a real product experience:
- Truck → highway radio
- Bus → long-distance journey playlist
- Auto → auto-rickshaw listening
- Salon → barber-shop music
- Mistri → worksite playlist
The goal was to make the pages feel like parts of one product rather
than disconnected SEO landing pages.
Building the MVP
Describe:
- frontend stack
- scene configuration
- audio/source strategy
- responsive design
- deployment
- SEO metadata
What I learned from Google Search Console
After launch, Google Search Console started showing something interesting.
Some pages received impressions quickly, but their CTR and ranking differed
significantly.
That taught me to separate three problems:
- Search demand
- Ranking
- SERP click-through rate
For example, a page ranking around position 5–7 with significant impressions
was often a better optimization target than creating another new page.
SEO changed my product roadmap
Originally I thought the next step would be adding more scenes.
Instead, search data suggested something different:
Improve the pages Google had already started ranking.
This changed my roadmap from:
More pages → more traffic
to:
Validated query → improve intent match → improve page → measure again
What surprised me
The biggest surprise was that niche search terms can reveal product concepts,
not just article topics.
"Truck music", "bus playlist", and "salon music" look like keywords on a
spreadsheet.
But together they describe a broader product concept:
music organized around everyday Indian scenes.
The project
I called the experiment
Wala Vibes.
It's still a small project, and I'm continuing to experiment with search,
content, scene design, and the radio experience.
