Every SaaS founder I know has this problem: you launch lead magnets, drive traffic, collect emails... but have no idea which download actually pays off.
Last month I built a Google Sheets tracker that answers: "Which lead magnet should I double down on?"
Here's the simple framework it uses:
Campaign Health Scores
- Download Rate = Downloads / Page Views (are people interested?)
- Lead Conversion Rate = Leads / Downloads (are they taking action?)
- Content Upgrade Rate = Upgrades / Leads (are they engaged?)
- Email Opt-in Rate = Subscribers / Upgrades (are they qualified?)
Revenue Attribution
You don't need a complex CRM. Just track:
- Average deal size from each campaign source
- Close rate (what % of leads convert to paying customers)
- Cost per campaign (ads + tools)
Formula: Revenue = Leads × Avg Deal Size × Close Rate
The Tipping Point
Most SaaS products need 2-3 lead magnets running simultaneously to find the winner. Track monthly, kill the underperformers, double down on winners.
I turned this into a ready-to-use Google Sheets template with pre-filled example data so you can copy the formulas immediately: LINK
The template includes automated ROI calculations, campaign comparison dashboard, and monthly fulfillment tracking. Set it up in 5 minutes.
What's your current lead magnet tracking method? Are you flying blind or data-driven?
