The problem it solves:
Most small teams and startups have no idea what
they actually pay for software each month.
Not because they are careless. Because nobody
ever built a tool that makes it effortless
to find out.
What it does:
Install CostLoop Email Scanner from the Chrome
Web Store. Connect Gmail or Outlook via
read-only OAuth. Click scan. It reads 12 months
of billing emails and surfaces every active
subscription with service name, cost, and
billing date. Review the list. Import what
you want. Done.
Privacy implementation:
OAuth read-only scope. Parses sender, subject
line, and date only. Email body content and
attachments are never accessed, transmitted,
or stored. Client-side parsing.
Stack:
- React / Next.js
- Supabase
- Vercel
- Stripe
- Chrome Extensions API
Quick self-audit:
[ ] Do you know every tool on your company card?
[ ] Any trials still running from past projects?
[ ] Seats active for people who left the team?
[ ] Annual renewals hitting this quarter?
Built this as a solo founder with no prior
coding background using Claude Code. The
extension just got approved on the Chrome
Web Store.
Would love feedback from anyone who tries it
especially if the subscription detection
misses something obvious.
