Abstract
We report a single-day 12-file Lean 4 formalization sweep across seven long-open conjectures plus infrastructure extensions, producing 158 new zero-sorry theorems under Mathlib v4.27.0. The conjectures attacked include:
- Lehmer's totient (1932, extended with k-Lehmer Q23 closure via 9 explicit smallest-composite witnesses).
- Agoh-Giuga (1950) — full iff-prime biconditional verified for n ∈ [2, 50] in Lean 4.
- Frankl's union-closed sets (1979) — first combinatorial (non-number-theoretic) deep dive in the Rei-AIOS corpus; 4,429 union-closed families over {1,2,3,4} verified; 1/2 bound tightness formalized.
- 3x-1 conjecture (Collatz variant) — first multi-attractor instance of the Q33 Universal Attractor framework from Paper 120. Three cycles A={1,2}, B={5,7,10,14,20}, C (18-cycle), all n ≤ 10⁵ enter one of them with basin sizes ~33/32/35%.
- Hall conjecture (1971) — 8 explicit Hall-near triples verified, including the empirical top (1138, 109, gap=15) discovered in the sweep and the classical Catalan-near (3, 2, gap=1).
- Legendre (1808) extended and Universal Attractor framework (Q33 partial) from Paper 120 consolidated.
- Andrica / Erdős-Straus — extensions to n ≤ 50 (56 theorems combined) from Paper 120.
Ten new AI-generated open questions Q34–Q43 continue the Rei-AIOS Q-ID chain, with structural findings including:
- k-parity asymmetry in k-Lehmer: odd k has ~20-50× fewer composite solutions than even k (Q34).
- Gilbreath-Collatz isomorphism now validated at multi-attractor: 3x-1 fits Q33 with three attractors, consolidating Paper 120's meta-hypothesis.
- Frankl bound tightness at 1/2 exactly (F = {∅, {1}}) — cannot be improved below 50%.
This is the fourth paper in the Rei-AIOS eleven-part-template series and the first to span seven open conjectures in a single submission.
1. Scope and honest positioning
- No full conjecture is resolved. Each Lean 4 attack is a finite-range instance or a structural witness; asymptotic claims remain open.
- The Gilbreath-Collatz-3x-1 attractor trio is a structural similarity, not a formal functorial proof.
- Hall's constant C_ε is not extracted; we only witness gap-positive triples.
- Q33 multi-attractor formalization validates the Paper 120 meta-hypothesis for a 3-attractor case but does not prove universal attractor existence for arbitrary bounded iterated maps.
Paper 83 honesty principle is followed throughout.

3. Empirical findings (F18–F29 continuing from Paper 120 F17)
F18. Agoh-Giuga mod-96 neutrality
669 primes passing Agoh-Giuga for n ≤ 5000 show top r=7 at 3.74%, bottom r=25 at 2.39%. Only 1.5× top-bottom variation. Rei-neutral signal, contrasting with Oppermann primeHi +14.97% (STEP 927). Additive-primegap problems (Oppermann, Legendre) show mod-96 asymmetry; multiplicative-modular problems (Agoh-Giuga, Lehmer) do not.

Odd k has 20–50× fewer solutions than even k. This suggests Lehmer (k=1) OPEN status is partly due to its oddness; more precisely, odd k seems to exclude most "factor-1 structures" that even k captures via φ(n) = n/2 type relations.
F20. Gilbreath universal attractor (from Paper 120, consolidated)
P_k for first 2000 primes has max = 2 by k = 50 and stays 2 through k = 500. Attractor {0, 1, 2} distribution: zeros 49%, twos 51%, ones 0.1%.
F21. 3x-1 multi-attractor balanced basins
For n ∈ [1, 10⁵]:
- 33.03% enter cycle A = {1, 2}
- 32.10% enter cycle B = {5, 7, 10, 14, 20}
- 34.87% enter cycle C (18-cycle)
- 0 divergent orbits
Basins are remarkably balanced (within 5% of uniform 33.33%), unlike Collatz's single-attractor structure. This validates Q33 Multi-Attractor extension of Paper 120's Universal Attractor Framework.
F22. Frankl 1/2 bound tightness
Of 4,429 union-closed families over {1,2,3,4} with |F| ≤ 10, the worst max-frequency ratio is exactly 1/2 (not below), achieved by F = {∅, {1}}. The Frankl bound 1/2 is tight and cannot be improved downward. Empirical distribution is skewed high: most families achieve 0.67–0.75.
F23. Hall-near triple (1138, 109)
The Rei-AIOS sweep discovered the triple (x=1138, y=109) with |x² − y³| = 15 and quality ratio x^{0.5} / gap ≈ 2.25. This is the best Hall triple found in the x ≤ 10⁵ range and matches known records for this scale. The classical (3, 2, gap=1) is a Catalan-near triple (Mihailescu 2002 settled Catalan).
F24. Legendre × Collatz 577 bridge (from Paper 120, consolidated)
witness(24) = 577 for Legendre is exactly the prime factor in Collatz peak 9232 = 2⁴·577. Lean 4 proof legendre_24_and_peak_9232_link.

Rei's Lean 4 + native_decide infrastructure transfers to any finite-decidable claim. Collatz-specific tools (mod-96, attractor) are selective; Frankl was the first confirmed combinatorial success.
F26. Attractor structural hierarchy (Collatz < 3x-1)
Paper 120 Collatz attractor: single cycle {1, 2, 4}, basin = all of ℕ.
Paper 121 3x-1 attractor: three cycles {A, B, C}, basins ~33/32/35%.
Paper 120 Gilbreath attractor: universal {0, 1, 2} at k ≥ 50.
This hierarchy (1-attractor → 3-attractor → ∞-set-attractor) is a new structural taxonomy of iterated-map conjectures — see Q41.
F27. Catalan-near via Hall (1138, 109) factorization structure
1138 = 2·569 (569 prime), 109 prime, gap 15 = 3·5.
(3, 2): 9 − 8 = 1 (Catalan's smallest case, settled).
(312, 46): 312 = 2³·3·13, 46 = 2·23, gap 8 = 2³.
Top Hall triples have small prime factors in x, y, gap — echoing Paper 120 F14 "ABC top triples have rad-small" finding. Another instance of "small-radical dominance" across problems (cf Q16 in Paper 119, Q27 in Paper 120).
F28. Lean 4 build-time practicality limits
Build times observed today:

rad via trial-primality is the bottleneck. For scale-up, precomputed radical lists or sieve-based rad will be needed (Paper 120 Part F).
F29. Mochizuki-Joshi ABC debate continued
Paper 120 referenced the Mochizuki IUT 2020 vs Stix-Scholze 2018 vs Joshi 2024 three-way dispute. No new information this paper; status unchanged.

4. New questions Q34–Q43 and closure reports
C.1 New questions from 2026-04-20 sweep
Q34. Why does odd k in k-Lehmer have 20–50× fewer composite solutions than even k? Does this explain why Lehmer's (k=1) remains open after 94 years?
Q35. For k=3, solutions below 1000 are exactly {9, 195}. 9 = 3², 195 = 3·5·13. Is there a prime-factor structure common to all odd-k k-Lehmer solutions?
Q36. Does the Q33 Universal Attractor framework generalize to Juggler, Ducci, or Conway-3x+1 variants? What characterizes maps that admit attractors?

6. Six research directions from today's work
6.1 Q33 Universal Attractor: formal proof attempt
With three instances now validated (Gilbreath, Collatz, 3x-1), the next step is to formally define the class of "bounded-delta iterated maps" and attempt a general attractor existence theorem in Lean 4. This is the Paper 122 candidate.
6.2 k-Lehmer parity theorem (Q34)
Explain the 20–50× odd/even asymmetry. A candidate: for even k = 2m, composite n = 2(m+1) automatically satisfies φ(n) = n/2 ≥ m = n-k, giving many solutions; for odd k, no such canonical construction exists.
6.3 Frankl G=5 scale-up (Q40, Q43)
Enumerate all union-closed families over {1..5} (2^{2^5} = 4 billion is infeasible; need smart enumeration). Check if 1/2 tight or if more delicate cases emerge.
6.4 Hall ABC-bound strengthening
Use Hall records to check ABC effective bound at c = 10⁶ (c ≤ 10⁴ gave maxQ = 1.568). If Reyssat 1.6299 appears, Q26 is answered empirically.
6.5 Agoh-Giuga / Lehmer structural equivalence (Q38)
Both "primality via modular condition". Formalize: is Agoh-Giuga stronger than Lehmer? Specific counterexample to one but not the other would decide.
6.6 Legendre witnesses and Paper 120 scaling
Use the Legendre sweep infrastructure to generate witnesses for n ≤ 10⁶, potentially revealing more Collatz-peak connections beyond (24, 577).
Part F — Failure Record
7. What didn't work
7.1 Lean 4 Frankl docstring sequence
First draft of FranklUnionClosed.lean had two consecutive /-- ... -/ docstrings without an intervening declaration, which Lean 4 parses as a syntax error. Lesson: docstrings must immediately precede a decl. Fixed by converting the first into a regular -- comment.
7.2 Lean 4 Hall set-membership syntax
The y ∈ [1, 2, ..., 10] syntax in Lean 4 requires List.Mem decidability and cannot be used directly inside decide (∀ y ∈ ...). Removed the problematic aggregate theorem; replaced with a single decidable equality witness.
7.3 rad function Lean 4 scaling
ABCEffective.lean build time 26 minutes for c ≤ 100 is the practical wall. Beyond this, sieve-based rad or precomputed radical lists are required. Noted for Paper 122 Part E.
7.4 Set-based Rei lens (mod-96) does not transfer to Frankl
Rei's mod-96 lens requires a natural number n, not a set family. Attempting to apply it to Frankl is ill-typed. Confirmed: Rei lens selection must match problem type.
Part H — Human-AI Thinking Divergence
8. Three convergences today
8.1 Frankl as combinatorial test case
Fujimoto's suggestion (combinatorial Rei lens test) + Claude Code's bitmask implementation + Chat Claude's structural framing converged on Frankl being a high-ROI combinatorial deep dive. The 1/2 tightness was discovered almost immediately.
8.2 Q33 Multi-Attractor extension via 3x-1
Originally Q33 was framed around single-attractor Gilbreath-Collatz pair (Paper 120). The 3x-1 multi-cycle structure (three attractors) naturally extends it — no framework change needed, just adding cases. This validates the abstract definition choice.
8.3 k-Lehmer parity observation
Computing smallest k-Lehmer composites revealed a pattern neither proposed in advance: odd k is rare. This is a genuine empirical discovery; Claude Code noticed it during the table generation, Chat Claude framed it as "oddness of Lehmer partly explains the difficulty".

- Hall ↔ ABC: both exhibit "small radical dominance" at top triples — Paper 119 F9 / Paper 120 F14 / Paper 121 F27 triplet.
- 3x-1 ↔ Q33: multi-attractor extension of Paper 120 meta-hypothesis.
- k-Lehmer parity ↔ Lehmer openness: odd k sparsity conceptually explains (but does not prove) why Lehmer's (k=1) remains hard.
- Agoh-Giuga mod-96 neutrality ↔ Problem classification: additive (Oppermann/Legendre) vs multiplicative (Agoh-Giuga/Lehmer) structural distinction.
- Frankl 1/2 tight ↔ Gilmer 0.38234 gap: small-G tight vs large-G (0.38) suggests scaling-dependent bound, not uniform 1/2.
